pH Meters
|
Electronic pH meters are more accurate and easier to interpret than indicator solutions or test strips. They measure the amount of H+ ions, and calculate the pH value to the tenths, hundredths, or thousandths, depending on the device.
Some pH meters are simple, hand-held devices that can be carried around to take measurements in the field. Others, such as that shown below, are more complex instruments that measure pH with greater accuracy in the laboratory.
The pH meter shown below is also equipped with a device to stir the solution, and it measures the solution's temperature too.
